Toronto Will Host a WNBA Team

Toronto will soon host its WNBA team, according to information from CBC Sports on Friday. This new franchise will be the 14th in the Women's National Basketball Association.

The team's home games will likely be played at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, where the American Hockey League's Marlies also play, starting in May 2026.

Ownership of this team lies with Canadian billionaire Larry Tanenbaum, president of Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), through his company Kilmer Sports Inc. Teresa Resch, former vice-president of basketball operations and development players from the Toronto Raptors, who will lead this new WNBA team.
